Vick to get out early

Michael Vick was one of the most exciting players to ever play football and made numerous highlight reel plays. All of those spectacular plays pale in comparison to the one that he just made. His positive drug test before sentencing increased the duration of his prison term. He said he smoked after seeing his father on the news saying disparaging things about him. That combined with an inevitable jail term makes smoking a joint seem not so horrible. At least not 9 months more jail time horrible.

That same mistake is what will set him free. Michael Vick became eligible to enter a drug rehab program. This program will allow him to potentially get in a year because he has no prior record. People will complain, but losing his livelihood and wealth is punishment enough. Imus got his job back and probably a raise.

Fannation

Vick, who failed a drug test while awaiting sentencing in the dogfighting case, is eligible for a federal drug treatment program known as the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). Inmates are involved in intensive treatment that lasts six to 12 months, with a minimum of 500 hours of treatment. Upon completion of the program, the inmate's eligibility for early release based on previous criminal convictions is determined. Vick did not have any previous convictions before his dogfighting case
