Stocks are real active right now. People are looking for some hope and Google beat expectations in a surprising fashion. Intel, IBM, and Altera also had great numbers so the mood was right for positive suprises. Hopefully all of the frozen tech reqs will melt soon because of how solid the numbers were. Tech was supposed to bounce back in mid to late 2008. Maybe all of 08 will be good instead. I hope so.

You are able to watch The Wire with vision and anticipation. Some people live life with that same vision. It takes vision to become cynical. Now imagine trying to explain to people who never saw the show why the events happen that way without sounding weird. I had to live that scenario every day at work. Even though you know what will happen, those without vision will think you are weird until they live the scenario.

Stringer Bell is tight and that actor probably benefited the most from his time on the Wire. Even though I wasn't paying too much attention when he was on, I could feel and appreciate his swagger.

Record Industry is shady

Did you know that the Record Industry said it was illegal to rip mp3 music from CDs last week. I was flabbergasted.

If that is the case, any person who transferred the contents from a CD to their ITunes account would be subject to the law. This also means that all music being played on mp3 players could only come from digital media sources like Apple and Rhapsody.

So basically, the RIAA decided to give all of their business to Apple and to Rhapsody.
Not too clever. People who rip mp3s buy CDs. Isn't that the goal of the RIAA? They make money when people buy CDs.

I guess they realized the error of their ways and recanted.

Great read

Yeah, the league is shady. But if you're scared go to church, you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. The league is consistently shady, so nothing is surprising.

How did the talk go?
The one with my manager-
He thanked me and appreciated my skill set. He said that he would write me a letter of recommendation if I need one. I know he wouldn't write such a letter if he didn't think I was good. He said anytime he asked someone about working with me, the response was always "great". Steve L refused to be a reference for Terrell when he laid him off, so based upon what my boss said I did a great job and shouldn't blame myself.

With wifey- She was cool when I told her at 6pm, then got real testy around 9pm, and then blew up at 2am with a kick punch knee combo in my side. She's cool now though and is determined to get me a job.

The search is going. There are quite a few jobs available that I can do, so that's a good thing. I am about to start using my cover letters as weapons though.
