My boy Cromartie

As we have discussed numberous times on here, Cromartie is sick and is better than Champ in my opinion. I watched Champ grow up in Washington, an Antonio is just ill.

In short, he’s one of those guys who can do just about anything, as Williams found out during Cromartie’s personal workout for the NFL before being drafted. As Cromartie was getting ready to do the vertical jump, he told Williams he would hit the 50-inch mark.

“I said, ‘Antonio, you’re not going to do that, you’re not an Olympic high jumper,’ ” said Williams, who has worked with Olympic athletes such as sprinter Lauryn Williams. “He just said, ‘We’ll see.’ So we get to the vertical jump and they set the top height at 44 inches.


“Well, Antonio jumps up and cups his hand over the top of the whole thing. Everybody goes silent and just kind of looks at each other. They didn’t know what to really do. But it takes awhile to set up the apparatus to measure the jump, so they just write 45 and move on. It was just ridiculous. It was way past 45, whatever it was.”


When it comes to Cromartie, it seems that the only boundaries are the dimensions of the field.

Superbowl is like the 2000 election

This year's Superbowl reminds me of the election between Bush and Gore. I didn't care who won, and I didn't care who lost. I simply don't care because I don't want either team to win. I wish they could just tie. How does Tiki Barber feel right now? He must be pissed the fu(k off right about now. He actually inspired them by talking bad about every one.

I would rather watch the Australian Open hoping for a black person to make the finals.

Green Bay as a team was too young for the Giants. New York is battle hardened and have failed more ways than the Packers. Green Bay seemed happy to be there but not hungry. In reality, that lack of focus could be on the coaches. When a team daydreams as much as the Packers have this post season, it's usually the coach. Well, that and the defense simply has no strategy for the big Plex.


Phillip Rivers is a warrior for playing without an ACL. The Chargers played to their appropriate level. With any 1 of the 3 playing effectively, New England was theirs. They will be scary next year as young Cromartie becomes a Jedi.

The Unpaid engineering BIll

I really enjoy Billy Belichick's interviews. He is the smartest guy in football in my opinion. I mean smartest overall which is the comprehensive combination of both book and football intelligence. He is sometimes short with the media because he is like the nerd who gets annoyed with normal conversations. He basically has the personality of an engineer and he even dresses like one. He can talk about football stuff all day and all night to intelligent football people. He is not gifted in speaking about love, life, and art though. People need to get over it. Listen to his interview here to get a grasp of how detailed he answers questions. He explains things in profound football detail. He is like a savant because he can't function in real life but is flawless in football thinking. He and Norv are probably two nerdiest coaches in the league. They are following in a close second by Brad Childress but he looks more like a molester than coach.

Revenge of the Norv

As you know, I'm a big fan of people reaching or overshooting their potential. It has been quite enjoyable to watch Norv develop these last two weeks. Norv is not charismatic ok! He does not lead in a "Man-ish" sort of way. He is more like the squeaky and clever old grandma that is always getting good deals. It can be annoying but you still have to respect her because she was always right. Norv is like that in terms of leadership style. Somehow, he survived just long enough for his intelligence to display its benefits. I think it's due to the wildfires and various other team bonding turmoils. Those experiences gave the team time to buy into what was being presented to them. The sleeper has awakened. Norv's warrior-inside has emerged.

AJ Smith deserved the extension he just received. He has done a greatjob. He had to weather the storm also. Martyball is dead. Cromartie is the X factor. If he can cover Moss on the deep stuff 1 on 1 they can win. He is probably fast enough to keep up with him. He might be like Aeneus was on Irvin. He used to jam Mike up.

Don't sleep on Weddle. He may be a good match up for Welker. He is just as smart. He is going to be solid.

AJ Smith is genius- did not cave and take a 2nd rounder for Michale Turner, held on to him all year paying him about 3 million to be back up and it all paid off Sunday.
