Ice Cube
Where did you move to?
How big is young Cutter now?
Mine wakes up once or twice, which is tolerable.
Phelps was solid, but it is still swimming. It was the greatest performance but I think Bolt was the Greatest Athlete. Phelps was also granted a platform to do that much.
Top athletes for me are like, Bo, Cromartie, S. Taylor, hershel, Deion. Tiger Federer and all champions in a sport, but that doesn't mean you an athlete in my world.
They unleashed the PacMan. He will be a beast. Watch.

Your draft
How do you feel about it?
Don't give up on the blog. You are an early adopter and need to weather the storm. We can shift focus and talk about fatherhood. I guarantee there is more money on the line that way.
I wanted to draft Ricky Williams. I may trade for him.
Colt Brennan is ok. I think can be above average for the long haul.
Cube's new album drops tomorrow. It may be a classic!
Is China the greatest country in the world now?
Seriously!

My boy Cromartie

As we have discussed numberous times on here, Cromartie is sick and is better than Champ in my opinion. I watched Champ grow up in Washington, an Antonio is just ill.
In short, he’s one of those guys who can do just about anything, as Williams found out during Cromartie’s personal workout for the NFL before being drafted. As Cromartie was getting ready to do the vertical jump, he told Williams he would hit the 50-inch mark.
“I said, ‘Antonio, you’re not going to do that, you’re not an Olympic high jumper,’ ” said Williams, who has worked with Olympic athletes such as sprinter Lauryn Williams. “He just said, ‘We’ll see.’ So we get to the vertical jump and they set the top height at 44 inches.
“Well, Antonio jumps up and cups his hand over the top of the whole thing. Everybody goes silent and just kind of looks at each other. They didn’t know what to really do. But it takes awhile to set up the apparatus to measure the jump, so they just write 45 and move on. It was just ridiculous. It was way past 45, whatever it was.”
When it comes to Cromartie, it seems that the only boundaries are the dimensions of the field.

Trotstramental
Another theme beat as opposed to song this time. Those Gurlz is my favorite song of 08.
Ricky Williams and Bill Parcells have excellent relationship.
Slick Rick says they talk every day and Bill definately cares about him.
Does that suprise you? He responds to leadership.
Wannestadt was Jimmy's drinking buddy.

The Skin's game

Gang signs is so out of date. They are like 10 years late. Gangs only got on the national radar because of the crack murders in the Hollywood Hills back in the day.
Yes I watch Dexter. You know this. I'm a big fan of the anti-hero. I can relate to people who are jacked up but do extraordinarily good things like House. Dexter is one of them too. I even think the guy in Mad Men is one but I'll keep watching for the good in them main character. He has at least two mistresses and sometimes violates my sense of family, but that is what makes the show enteraining.
Saw DB3 at Tino's wedding. He is like DB a lot. Very nice boy and just as mellow as his pops.
Redskins just upgraded. Taylor at 33 is younger than the DE that got hurt and was a DPOY. I think the Redskins just got a dominant defense. They should be glad they started camp so early.
I now understand how much Dolphas loves me. I should have leveraged that a little more growing up!!!!!

Mad Men

Have you ever watched that show? Mad Men! It's about Advertising Salesman in the 60's. They play it true to the era with pure chauvenism. It's neat. The main character is about as conflicted as Nate from 6 feet under.
Work is cool. There is a lot of opportuntiy. O'Malley is cool too.
Why is the NFL spending time on Gang signs?

Leftwitch and Culpepper
Why hasn't anyone picked them up. Leftwich may suck but he is better than Croyle.
Culpepper when healthy was actually really good at times. He made nfl type professional throws. His receivers could not catch them but it was obvious why he had an mvp season at times.
Shaun King talked about this once. It's jacked up!

Roy Williams
He may be a liability but there is a roster spot for him on my team.
I don't want him to cover, I want him to wreak havoc. Roy needs a nerd with him at safety to line him up. He does not need to be the leader or captain. He needs to be harnessed like the weapon that he is. Remember when he blew up Emmitt and made him cry afterwards.

Some G-ish
Fred Smoot is my probably my 2nd favorite Skin behing Portis and the late S. Taylor.
He told the trainers to get him some water and then bounced back to the field during a playoff game.
He told the trainers to get him some water and then bounced back to the field during a playoff game.
CB Fred Smoot suffered severe cramps and began throwing up blood.. The team carted him into the locker room where they hooked him up to IV's.. While watching the fourth quarter and seeing his team possibly blow another late lead, Smoot asked the trainers to go get him something, when they left the room, he ripped the IV's out of his arm and ran back out onto the field and told Gregg Williams he was playing..

Dexter Manley is comedy
They have some of his old quotes posted. He was probably as crazy as Haley.
For real!

For real!

On accusations he spit on Saints tackle Jim Dombrowski, November, 1988: "I'm allergic to holding, so I sneezed . . . If he thought I spit, I really want to apologize. I was sneezing; perhaps I sneezed in his face. We were talking. He'd been grabbling me all day, and it was just one of those things. Why should I get fined? This guy hit me. If I sneezed, I sneezed. It's his word against mine . . . Besides, I don't know if there's a spitting rule. If there was, I'd have known about it. I don't think there's a no-sneeze rule. Anyway, I wouldn't flagrantly spit on someone. I'm a mortgage banker, and do bankers spit? No."

Clifton Smith to the Bucs
Tampa signed him to a free agent contract after inviting him up to mini-camp.
He showed out.

They know! They know!

They know! They know!
Name to remember
The best undrafted free agents are signed right away.
The overlooked ones are fortunate to score tryouts somewhere.
But Fresno State running back Clifton Smith made the most of his. The Buccaneers brought him to Tampa for last weekend’s rookie minicamp and the 5-foot-9, 192-pound Smith made such an impression that the Buccaneers signed him Monday to a free-agent contract.
The Buccaneers believe Smith, Fresno State’s team MVP last season, could be a sleeper, helping them not only in the backfield but in the return game. Last season, Smith averaged 14.4 yards per punt return.
Of course, it’s a long way from now until the final cuts, but for now, Tampa Bay is encouraged.
Mendenhall got robbed (already)
This is another example of the sad truth. Mendenhall got robbed yesterday in Chicago. He just got back home from mini-camp and was robbed at gunpoint. They know who he was and got him.

Danny's new Toy
Have you seen the Redskins?
They traced a 1, 3 and a 5 for three 2nd rounders. They got the guy they wanted in the first in the 2nd and got Fred and Malcolm for a 3rd and 5th respectively. Now Dan is swapping a lot of players. He found a new toy to play with and it's called the draft. The Redskins will be big players in the draft going forward.
Growth and evolution!

Danny is on the Slunder
The Redksins have been rogue right before the draft. They have been shopping their 1st round pick for a receiver. I found out that they also offered a similar package for Anquan Boldin. Slunder bye the way means way more stealth like than plain old under.

Have you seen Twitter? It's like a collection of random thoughts from people.
I ride with Memphis. I said before the final four started that they have a team of like 5 Tayshaun Princes. They are all long, lanky and athletic. Calipari is the best at coaching Marcus Camby types. He has a whole team of them. Gore probably is done with politics and I have seen one of those $100K speeches. All politicians have to be great speakers and Gore proved his rank as VP when I heard him speak. He was bluffing and out of context but I could see the gift.
Yeah I read the KState vs Fresno State stuff. It seems like they are scurred!
FSU is up and coming and are already a national threat. Still Jobless!

What's wrong with this photo
I'm conflicted on this one. I can see both sides of the argument. My final thoughts are that people should get over it and that it could have been done classier(if ratings weren't the number 1 aspect).
First of all Vogue is a Woman's magazine. The psychological affect is different on them then on men. It was probably a man who complained. This doesn't anger (all) women. Black women would get mad because they don't want to see any blackman touching a white woman so it wouldn't matter how they posed. Sistas would get mad regardless and were looking for a fault so they could act. At the same time, sistas don't read Vogue so they probably don't even know about it.
Sensitive black folks(like myself) are very concerned over the way bruthas are portrayed and displayed. We don't like to see any Blackman looking like an animal, stupid, or threatening. How many times have you seen a brutha in a suit on the cover of a magazine? You have seen one in uniform many times though. None of the other athletes are in uniform for the other photos. Lastly, the picture looks a little King-Kongish and Giselle looks like that little white girl King Kong was obsessed with.
Now that I think about it, some white people may be upset too. Any images alluding to Mandingo or black man physical prowess while in the presence of an attractive caucasian female upsets people. Not me though, I like to see the boundaries pushed.
So I say let it go and move on. It could be perceived as tasteless and for ratings but definitely not malicious.

I can see that
That was very wise of Mr. Brown to mention that. He is correct in many dimensions.
The number 1 skill required for an AD is fund raising. This is why the old football coach in big football programs can leave coaching and go into the AD job. All of the players will donate money too their old coach.
The other aspects are business and sports, which are obvious skills of yours.
The most important aspect is that you will be motivated and thus you can overcome your hatred the bureaucracies because there will be a lot.

The Z-man has cometh.
You know what? I really like the hiring of Jim Zorn. He represents what my principles are. The main reason why I like him is that the first thing he did was went and hired two brutha's as his coaches(with one of them being named Stump). That's really cool and something that you would do. He will get along with his players and put Clinton Portis in a situation to do what Shaun Alexander did. Hi is a really good guy, smart and likable. I wrote a post on this before about being smart and likable. I am rooting for him because he is seen as under qualified but in reality he may be the best because of his intangibles.
