Think and Grow Rich

Great Read
"
This book was different in terms of style. It's basically about 13 concepts of self preparation that should lead to financial success. The best way to describe it as a cross between and self help/motivational book combined with personal finance.
"

Negative Boilerplates

So it seems that Jared Allen's drinking past will stay with him for at least another year or so.

He is an All Pro this year. We named him to the OurW Mid-season award team earlier and he rightly deserved it.

Hopefully he can she his troubled past stigma and move on.

Exit Stage Left

Since the regular season has concluded in the NFL, it is now time for the annual firings to commence. Mr. Billick has lost his job. He probably could have won another with Trent honestly. All of the other QB's have failed to do anything. The only reason he got the job in the first place was because of Randy Moss. His rookie season made Billick seem better than he actually was.

Who's next, Nolan? Marvin? Cameron? Somebody is about to lose their job, I guarantee it.

The winner is......

The New England game will be televised instead of being held for ransom by the NFL Network. Did this happen because they actually care about the fans? No. It happened because the New England Representative didn't have the NFL Network and used Congress to achieve his own personal agenda. In this situation I think his actions were justifiable because it is a better thing for all of America. What is not acceptable is when personal agenda's help the one individual and harm the everyone else like many other ideas in the past.

This topic was discussed here a week ago, and I now stand corrected. For the first time in my life, being wrong is actually a better thing.

I like this dude

I'm a big fan of Mr. Ron Paul. He's fun to watch.
I don't really know why I like him because I am not in agreement with all of his policies. I think because he sticks to his code and hasn't wavered yet.

I think I like him because he seems fundamentally objective.
He is about solving problems while being completely devoid of emotion and even compassion sometime. I think it's ok to take campaign money from shady sources if your plan is to do good with that money. It's a Robin Hood concept.

The True Martyr

True martyrs die in battle as Ms. Bhutto did. She chose to come back to Pakistan after exile despite the threat to her person. She chose not to flee even after the first assassination attempt in October. She was a true warrior and may she rest in peace.

R.I.P Benazir Bhutto

And then it hit me

Getting laid off is not cool. Having it happen before Christmas is even worse. If your wife is also pregnant during that time, it's all bad. Those are the issues currently on my plate and I've been dealing with them quite well. I never imagined how I would feel if something like this were to happen, but it did, and things weren't that bad.

Then I spoke to my sister. She told me not to buy anyone anything for Christmas. I have been getting gifts for my family since I was a child. Even though my parents financed the gifts that I got them, I still participated.

When my sister said not to buy her anything, it really hit me. I failed to provide this Christmas. I can only imagine the devastation my unborn would feel if I couldn't provide on the biggest Holiday of the year. I will never let this happen again, I promise that. I will not allow myself to be in such a vulnerable state ever again. A setback is a setup for a comeback and mine will be greater than anything Elway ever did. I kid you not!!!!

At its finest

Implausible Deniability is best demonstrated by this!

Avoiding blame due to ignorance!

Flip this House

In my boredom, I will periodically watch shows such as "Flip this House".
One of the main characters on this week's episode is named JD Esagian.
That name sounded very familiar and then they showed some high school football highlights of the 3 business partners. Then I realized that I played against the guy in high school. He played for Roosevelt. I wouldn't mention this, but you know that I was a functional tackler instead of a violent collision type of guy. The hardest hit of my life ever delivered was against this gentleman that I am looking at on TV. It's a small world, but this is a sign. That hit was one of my last examples of perfection, and I needed to be reminded.

JD if you're reading this, think back to your final high school football game when you played Sanger. Do you remember getting blown up near your goaline? If so, it was I. Thank you for the moment and good luck with your future housing endeavors.

Big Cable vs Big Football vs US government = less revenue and enjoyment

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Are27nnXlQg0zy
QLjZ0bEWRDubYF?slug=ap-senate-nflnetwork&prov=ap&type=lgns

It looks like the Thursday night football on the NFL network issue finally reached the halls of Congress. The NFL reached a negotiation stalemate with Comcast and TimeWarner Cable.
The key factor here is that none of this has to with us the football consumers.
Neither the NFL nor cable has done anything to bring me the games that I want to watch. Instead we're forced to watch the local teams, which is great if you happened to grow up here but is not cool otherwise. The NFL and Cable companies are using technology to make their business practices more complex, but not better. Don't they realize that people will pay to watch their favorite teams and there is more money to be made that way than any other solution they are thinking about? They are operating for short term money, when they realize the market that is available for fans being able to watch their favorite teams. It's neat to see monopolies fight against monopolies.

House approves AMT modification

Thank God!
The AMT in its previous state was jacked up. I hope they got it straightened out.
I can't tell by reading this if I am cool, but hopefully my accountant will have better results for me in '08.

Justified

The Sean Taylor situation has concluded in my opinion.
http://ourw.blogspot.com/2007/11/big-media-blew-it.html

He has been vindicated. Big Media blew it and judged incorrectly.
There are so many articles about the positives of Sean.
They feel guilty.

Big 10 football should be a lot better. There has been a lack of playmakers in the league and they were playing big business style of football. It's time to play google style and modernize. Rich and Ron will take it further and do what the Florida schools did to innovate football in the 90's.

What are you favorite sites and what not? We need to make this spot contain all places you would visit on the web in a day. I solved the analytics issue and we should now be able to get data. We can then take marketing steps after that.

Have fun and do something I'd do and we should be able to do something major here once you're back.

i am liking this a lot better- good work

Sean Tay

Sean Taylor was chosen to represent the NFC in the 2007 Pro Bowl- how cool is that.

Lorenzo made it again as did 11 cowboys, 8 Chargers, and 8 Patriots

the Steelers do appear to be wearing down- and a first round matchup vs the Jags is not the best medicine you can prescribe.

Did you realize the Michigan jas now stolen both the FB and Basketball coaches from West Va in the past 8 months? not cool

the athletes at Northwestern i have a feeling will not be the ame as what he brings to Michigan

He very well may make the Big 10 watchable

Steelers are running on fumes-How to add photos to your blogposts

Even though Tomlin is one of my favorites, I don't think Pittsburgh has too much left in the tank. I think they peaked too early and have worn out. Tomlin is the only coach who held full on double days. He wore his team out. He's young and he was trying to establish his reign. New coaches have to establish dominance early and young coaches usually have to do it even more. If they can rally, cool, but I don't think can sustain too much longer.

Norv has established his style in Chargerland. Did you see Sproles go off finally? I'm glad they gave he and Romeo long enough to get things going. Both of those teams are hot at the precise moment which is right now.

How to add photos to blog posts:

In the blog editing section click the button that looks like a picture. If you have the photo stored on your computer, you can simply browse for it. You can use some of the pictures options there such is top middle, left right or none. If you select none, you can modify it's location by cutting the HTML code generated after hitting the upload button and pasting in above or below your text depending upon where you want the image to show.

If you don't have a photo stored on your computer than you should do a Google image search for the photo that you would like. Keep clicking until you get the largest and best quality photo and then move the cursor above the photo and right select. Either save the image or copy the location. Instead of browsing your computer for a photo, you can enter the copied image location. Hit "upload image" and the html code will get pasted into your text. You will see the picture when you view the blog or have the Compose tab highlighted in the top write of the text editor box.

The Marination of Brady

no doubt you leave him on the bench- as long as Anderson keeps doing what he is doing how do you think of any kind of change. they are an interesting team. they have done a good job in the draft over the years- it just has taken a # of years for them to be healthy. they picked Winslow, Braylon, Joe Thomas, and Quinn, signed Jamal which has turned out perfectly, and hired Romeo. not a bad build out of a team. the crazy thing is they were probably a half, maybe a game and a half away from blowing the whole thing up. firing Romeo, putting Quinn in, ect. the NFL is crazy like that. now they are in the top 5 hottest teams.

Tomlin needs t oget his team back together. not playing good defense at all. everyone loves Norv here, and new yorkers are ready to run Eli out of town again.

the Skins win next week and have a shot- the healthy Brees show is back in it.

what was your take on Laron last night? he was playing a pretty impressive free safety. i wonder if they were using those two incorrectly.

in honor of the LJ trade i am considering playing you( once you officially make it tonight) sans Steven Jax

The Cleveland Quandry

Northwestern runs the spread option. They don't have the athletes that Michigan will have though. I think Zook does some of it to. Can't you see him telling a recruit that Illinois is going to run the coolest and tightest offense out which is the spread option right now. I think it will be neat to see Michigan's version of it. Michigan is like East Coast style business. They need that modern upgrade that Nebraska needs. The small school coaching styles are starting to have in impact especially in the spread.

What would you do if you were Cleveland's GM?
I would sign Derek to a two or three year deal and let Brady marinate like A Rogers.

Spread Option in Big 10

think about this for a minute- could Rich go in there and completely turn that league upside down? grant it it will take 3 years to get his type of player and speed in there. but this could be very interesting. what has been happening to ohio st in bowl games- and what will happen to Michigan against Florida in the bowl. he could come in and dominate until they adjust to him.

such a intriguing selection opposed to a Miles who would come in and do what the rest of them are already doing.

i like it- and i am sure he just tripled his salary.

good for him

Michigan jot got Rich

West Virginia's coach Rich Rodriguez was apparently just hired by Michigan.
After losing out on Myles and and a couple of other pro coaches, they had no choice but to go after him. He was among the last big name coaches that would be available to them and he is the best among the bowl bound coaches. Did you know that he was my boy Dew's coach back at Glenville State in West Virginia? My boy got busted for an herb delivery when he was on the team. He didn't kick him out. Rich can deal with the renegades and Michagan needs a little swagger.

How is college stealing pro coaches

I think the NFL has now become too corporate. That is the best way to describe the current trend happening right now. Big money college programs have decided to up the ante and will pay more than professional teams. It looks like there an official supply vs demand scenario here.

The NFL life is not quite as glamorous to coaches anymore and there is too much non football responsibilities that they have to deal with. In reality, NFL coaches stop teaching a few years ago and the real football teachers have not business in the league anymore. If the teacher is not of a certain type, they will fail in the league. As a result, college coaches are using the NFL as leverage to get better jobs and more money but they really aren't interested in coaching at that level like in the past.

Some kind words

Now that Mike's locked up, some good things about him are
starting to emerge. There was a CSI that included
dogfighting. It was really stupid and the worst episode
I've ever seen.

I wonder if we'll see a whole slew of TV shows gravy
training this story. He said he smoked weed after
hearing his estranged father condemn him in the Atlanta
newspaper. That would suck to see your father calling
you a criminal in the national media.

" He donated $1 million dollars to Virginia Tech for
the rebuilding of their athletic facilities as well as an
additional $50,000 to the school for a scholarship fund.
Additionally, Mr. Vick gave $100,000 to match contributions
raised by the Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manassas,
Virginia to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina, and recently
assisted the pastor and members of his church in acquiring a
new church sanctuary to accommodate their growing congregation
in Virginia.

Clemens

It was obvious that he was a juicer and I hope he gracefully fades away.
http://deadspin.com/sports/week-in-review/pity-poor-roger-clemens-334136.php
Hopefully they can now move on. I think Barry can do good with the A's and hopefully they don't try to suspend him. He stopped using a few years ago.
How was he linked into Duke? Maybe something can happen at UCLA. He would dominate there.

Fight

yes i did see that fight- he is very peyton like. roy was complete opposite you are dead on. not sure who he has left to fight- he should probably retire but he has finally gotten to the point of making REAL money- over 30 million on last 2 fights alone

my thoughts on baseball? this was the final burst of press before this goes away. the public has already accepted it and moved on- i think it is great that clemens is getting exposed. he is a fraud and always has been. i am curious which route he takes- goes off and disappeears- pulling a big mac. or stands up and fights it- doing a bonds.

i hope he goes away

nebraski isnt happening- there was hope for duke but cutliffe got that one. might be another year in athens for our man

Fundamentally Flawless-Mayweather vs Hatton

Did you see this fight? Floyd fought him perfectly. He is the like a Peyton Manning of boxing. He is fundamentally flawless. He boxes so perfectly that it is entertaining. Roy Jones Jr. was different. He was the polar opposite meaning so unorthodox that it was magical.

Steroids and MLB

My statement,

"If baseball wouldn't have had all of the performance enhanced home runs and 100 MPH fastballs the last two decades, I would have watched it less than I currently do, which is avoid it on television and only go live if I'm in a box.

Great read

Yeah, the league is shady. But if you're scared go to church, you knew the job was dangerous when you took it. The league is consistently shady, so nothing is surprising.

How did the talk go?
The one with my manager-
He thanked me and appreciated my skill set. He said that he would write me a letter of recommendation if I need one. I know he wouldn't write such a letter if he didn't think I was good. He said anytime he asked someone about working with me, the response was always "great". Steve L refused to be a reference for Terrell when he laid him off, so based upon what my boss said I did a great job and shouldn't blame myself.

With wifey- She was cool when I told her at 6pm, then got real testy around 9pm, and then blew up at 2am with a kick punch knee combo in my side. She's cool now though and is determined to get me a job.

The search is going. There are quite a few jobs available that I can do, so that's a good thing. I am about to start using my cover letters as weapons though.

Two great points from JayZ:

“In hip-hop, the whole 'keep it real' has become more than a phrase. Scorsese and Denzel are not tied to the films they make, so people see the separation between art and life. Unfortunately, they don't see that separation between Shawn Carter and Jay-Z. As far as they're concerned, everything I talk about is happening for real. To them, at no point is it entertainment.”

“It's worse in business, because there is no fear of retribution. If somebody fucks me on a deal, then later I'll fuck them on a deal. But, other than that, nothing happens. On the streets, you have to have integrity or you won't be there long. You can't give your word and then do the opposite. In business, people just run all over each other; it's unpoliced.”

Rich Dad

you actually read the wrong book- that was is cool, but pretty basic like you described. i think you will get more out of this one:

Cashflow Quadrant:

same author with lot of same stories ect but it will get you to look at your profession from a different angle

sorry for lack of contributions- i have been pretty busy down here with meetings and stuff

what is new on the search? had did the conversation go?

i think the Pats may put up 60+ sunday

do you feel bad for Arthur Blank? is it possible to feel sorry for a billionaire? i mean things just havent gone his way- did patrino sell it out? does he get a pass for not exactly getting the situation he signed up for?

it appears Blank has just had bad luck-

i have to force the issue regarding playoffs- i need to get into his mind by demonstrating extremely high levels of confidence. liken it to the U circa jimmy johnson

perhaps he talks himself into thinking he needs to make adjustments opposed to status quo

perhaps these adjustments are the down fall

plus- why not? all i know snake isn't in them and NOBODY wants to see you and i next week in the finals!!!- if we do make it we should drop our entire roster- a do a re draft of available free agents and roll the super bowl on that- HA- how great would that be?

if you get a chance read that book- would like to hear your take

Ice Cube

When did ESPN get the deuce Stews

Since I've been able to watch more TV recently, I seem to have started noticing the Two Stewarts on ESPN. Have they been on there a while or is this ESPN's apology to messing up the Sean Taylor story? Did they add some chocolate brothas get some more cred and show that they are black friendly. You have to be fully committed when you bring on the darkness. These guys have presence and are not little fair complected cats like ESPN's previous group.

The league can't handle what?

Be careful when using the Trotteristic style of luck*.
Any signs of over confidence will banish it. That is why I am a pessimist by nature.

Actually, based upon how the last two weeks have been for me,I have run out of your luck. You are operating with Vorhees style of luck right now so what you sent was actually correct.

Nevermind!

* In enchange for Steven Jackson, Vorhees traded his luck to CampTrotter. The length of terms was undisclosed but the luck has apparently ran the fu(k out!

Ramifications

Now back to the rock vs yowder discussion.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071211/ap_on_go_ot/cocaine_sentencing

There are something like 19,500 inmates that may be affected by this change in cocaine sentencing. I'm guessing there are at least 10,000 fatherless children out of that group and at least 6000 are below the poverty level. That is what the jacked up law did. The goverment caused the creation of more welfare recipients. Jacked up laws don't affect the current, they affect posterity.

Richest Man in Bablyon

I just read this book also. It's different and not for everybody. First of all, it's written in that old English King James biblical style. Another aspect is that the book is about an ancient story that that does not contain realistic examples. If the reader can't apply metaphorical aspects of the past to their present then it won't work for them. As a result, I will break it down for those who can't comprehend. The book is about the cures for a lean wallet, and how to handle your gold(money).
The principles are basically the same as in Rich Dad Poor Dad.
Save money, budget, have a will, buy a house, invest, learn from experts, use money to make money, procrastination is bad luck, lastly to enjoy the work.

Basically, know your tax laws, invest in revenue generators, don't spend frivilously, and continue to build and you will be cool.

Next up is Think and Grow Rich. That book is larger that the previous two combined so it may take a few before I tell you about it.

Rich Dad vs Poor Dad

You know me, and I always hit the books during times of crisis. I use these times as learning experiences and try to better myself.
So I read that book "Rich Dad Poor Dad". The concept of it is bascially this. Poor dads work for money, and rich dad's money works for them. Simply buy things that make money. It also says that you should understand current tax laws and to basically take time and effort to do something with your money. If you don't have money you should save some so that you can do something with that. Another key concept is the fact that the book says to learn from expert when investing. I could tell you what the poor dad does, but who cares because we're all reading it to get rich anyway.

Crack vs Powder

The government finally overturned this law.
The current guidelines would have put a min in jail for 22 years for crack. It would take 100 times that amount in powder for the same sentence. Talk about racial. This is infratructure style. This is what put so many of us in jail during the late 80s and 90s. This is how they reacted to crack. They locked everyone up instead of solving the problem, or even stopping the Iran Contra coke that started the epidemic. Locking everyone up to deter them from a problem does not fix the problem. It only postpones the inevitable.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071210/ap_on_go_su_co/scotus_crack_cocaine

American Gangster is already bootlegged

Start putting one of the 5 themes in the label below: Sports Business, Technology, Politics, or Society.

I would upset about Mike Vick, but I only care about myself right now. I'll get pissed about it after I get a job.

On that day, manager led me into the room with the HR rep like it was the TV show "Intervention". I got smooth ambushed. I felt like William Wallace when he found out the Bruce was working for the King. I got ran out of there before I could finish my cup of coffee.

Like I said before. I hope he never plays again because I don't want to see him grovel and beg to get back.

The Century Club is tight. Last time I went was in the last 90's with D Brown. I haven't been to a party or club with all black people in probably like 5 years. The club was like a straight rap video.

Willis should be a pro-bowler. Tebow should have won the Heisman. I wonder if he can get better stats next year. Pat Hill is not smooth enough to coach at UCLA, simply. LoNeal getting hurt could spell doom for the Charger family. If the Skins win out, they are in the playoffs. They will have beaten all teams ties with them. They have a good chance against Minny because they can stop the run without Sean but not the pass. Tavaris is going to be ok. He has a cannon. I mean a cannon!

Century Club.... with my jeans on

our first significant milestone- good work

do i drink wine? yeah but has 7-up in it more often then not. but every now and then it is cool. have started getting into scotch to a degree.

observations- randy moss is my people. kind of cool seeing Brady get in dude's face. Bolts are still crazy. their playoff hopes rest in matchups and how it falls. they can give some teams problems

yeah blackberry has me- perhaps the google platform will evolve into an option that would work for us.

nice work vs J-dub. perhaps we will meet again in 2 weeks. good guys in the final

CrackBerry

It looks like they've got you hooked. The Blackberry looks very tempting to me, but I typically refuse to pay any out of pocket additions when getting a phone. I'll just wait. One day they'll have something cheap and highly adaptable if the buyer spends a little time learning. When that comes out I'll upgrade.
You drink wine?

i am not sure if Norv did anything other then the schedule being kind to them at this juncture. against Tenn will be interesting. the two shauns chasing down vince

Perfection

Did you see Clinton Portis' screen pass in the game last night?
At the very end of the play he was running and then tucked behind his blocker and got about 10 more yards because of it. It was a prefect example of setting up a block.

Rolle Call-Second String QBs

I didn't know how good he was. It's now "get to know a black person week" in the media. I didn't know he was that smart. Good, he can be my next Sean Taylor. I am wanting to see a new generation Ronnie Lott and Sean was coming along nicely.

When a team hurts the opposing team's starter, it usually comes back to haunt them. Their defense is a lot times ill equipped for the modified gameplain of the back up QBs. Basically, a team's tendencies change when there's a different QB and most modern defensive coordinators design defensive game plans based upon those offensive tendencies. A team is usually not prepared for the backup QB and doesn't have film on him to understand what his strengths and weaknesses are. As a result, the backup QB against a good defense can be more affective than the starter.

Camp Rolle

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more/12/04/rolle1210/

Google

they are not going to win the bidding. in my opinion they have accomplished what they set out to do- by agreeing to place a bid, which insured the minimum 4.5 billion was going to be met, they pushed for the govt to make their new open platform a standard. this being opened up takes away the telcos lock on their systems and devices. it prevents a microsoft type monoploy from even getting started on mobile devices. creating their platform will obviously give them the inside track on collecting from their yet to be released or even created mobile services. this also takes away the telcos ability of controlling their customers online experience and collecting all of the revenue for them alone.

they used their clout to force a fundamental change. pretty impressive

they arent going to become a telco and continue to invest in actually building a network

i love what they are doing- very very interesting stuff with a new approach

and as you have mentioned before using technology to change how the world does things on a day to day.

A setback is a setup for a comeback

On to Business. Yesterday I was reminded once again that corporate America doesn't care about the individual. It's a dog a pony show with the most shiny dog winning.

On that note, I would like to talk about the 700Mhz freqency spectrum and that all of the Telco's are bidding on. I really hope Google wins because whatever they use it for will be cheap for consumers. They are new money style and will most likely provide phone and video(television or on demand) service for their magical new hardware devices. Google is going to make the Star Trek type of communication device and will make them cheap. ATT is also bidding on this piece of cell-phone real estate. They are old money, and the only reason they want to purchase it is to keep their monopoly. Old Money just wants to keep their money. New Money is about innovation. Google will take this further, while ATT will just try to kill it like big computer based companies tried to do with Linux.

I will be cool. Like the almight Hov once said, I'm not a businessman, I'm a "Business" Man!!!!

5 headed toics

that was a great call- should easily get us to surpass the century club. i am heading to vegas in the morning to meet up with philip- work related.

#33 needs to respond to the immigration post- i agree with everything you said. not only is work getting done, keeping prices on food low, continuing to stimulate the economy. all positives that out weigh free insurance ect.

Bo is putting his staff together right now- not listing names until all positions are hired. i have not heard from DB in a few days to see if he is even getting the interview

i need to dedicate a block of hours to catch up with your novels

if you are UCLA and peterson from boise declines to even interview for that job? what does that say about the state of your program?

my take is they should hire Pat Hill- can you think of another team that is in need of what he brings to the table? it would suck for fresno but he isnt going to be there for ever

Immigration

Immigration is still a hot topic. This is a interesting area of discussion because there are so many different layers involved. One side views the immigrants stay as a drain of resources and a waste of tax money. This is unsurprisingly more of a financial debate than it anything else.
Does the amount of free services outweigh positive contributions that illegal aliens can bring to the table?
If you view this in terms of economics you end up with two areas of impact. There is a macro or national view as well as a micro or personal economic perspective.

Common macroeconomic indicators are inflation, unemployment, and interest rate. The biggest and most obvious concerns of American people in regards to aliens are unemployment and crime. Jails cost a lot of money to maintain and the victims of crimes suffer some way if not fiscally. The thing is that crime is not limited to non residents, and they get sent home when caught. How these people affect the unemployment rate is a different story. It can be viewed as a positive in some circles. If they are doing jobs that citizens typically refuse to do, they are they are positively affecting the job rate as opposed to hurting it because those jobs simply would not get done. Over half of the food in the United States is grown in the Central Valley of California. 95% of the Central Valley’s food goes through the hands of an illegal immigrant. If the legal residents refuse to do certain jobs and farm labor, how would people get their food? A lot of the migrant farm workers work for wages below minimum wage and in harsh conditions. If the farm workers charged normal wages and requested standard working conditions, the whole system may be in jeopardy because more expensive headcount yields less profit.

The whole Agriculture business model is designed for unrealistically cheap labor cost. It’s gotten to expensive and impossible to survive as a “mom and pop” farm. The smaller farms have sold out to the Doles and Del Monte’s of the worlds.

All individuals have the strengths and weakness which translate to positive and negative contributions to society. Unfortunately, the process is too cumbersome, laborious, and expensive to handle each individual’s case separately. So it’s not the merits of one illegal resident, but the merit of all.

If all of the illegal aliens decided to go back to their native land after today’s protest, would America be better or worse off.

The microeconomic factors pertain to the price of things that people, families, or companies buy. The supply and demand concept is the essence of microeconomics. Foreigners may increase the cost of car insurance but reduce the cost of grapes, lettuce, tomatoes, and all other produce. Its cost pennies per pound and that may be because production is cheap due to supremely cheap labor cost.

KEEPING IT REAL:
CampTrotter is not mad at anyone that will cook food for all ethnicities, pick grapes, work at McDonalds, mow the lawn, patiently wait outside of home depot for work, massage, or any other domestic manual labor task that normal people(like our president’s brother) won’t do just to live in the country. Even if their contribution to the GDP was negative, their cost would still be less the 385 million dollar construction tab due to Haliburton for the Immigrants prison.

Immigrants or their offspring cook food at many fine dining establishments. They also keep the Camp’s home nice inside and out for cheap. The prison that Haliburton received the contract for cost 385 million dollars. If their impact on interest, tax rates or supply and demand is more positive than negative than CampTrotter is not upset. Richer people proportionately less taxes than poorer ones, so the Camp is not offended that someone reaps the benefits of all money donated to the IRS.

this is getting good

i have to run to a meeting

there were over a dozen former canes- presently in the NFL- at the funeral

not that this person's opinion means more then yours but you should feel justified( not sure if right word)

"One of the things that I hope comes out of this tragedy is that the media get a small lesson in grace and humility," said Florida City mayor Otis Wallace, a friend of the Taylor family. "For those who took the liberty of recklessly speculating that this young man's death was caused by the way he lived, all I can say is they should be ashamed."

The audience responded with a standing ovation.

Education vs Tax

You didn't like my air comment or associated with being detatched.
What is funny is how that is the biggest rise I can get out of you, one sentence.
I know you got half of Lemoore into Cal Poly all that stuff. You kept it more real than Mike Vick.

Taxes are the only thing in politics that are predictable and that matter to an individual like us. All of the other stuff that matters is not predictable and the predictable stuff doesn't really matter. Politics are designed to be the change agent and that is why we vote, but the sad fact of the matter is that our votes doesn't impact change, it only impacts taxes.

School funding and taxes are sadly in competition when times are tough. When the economy is well the taxes on the GDP is enough to keep education well. When the economy is not well and everyone is fighting for money, education and taxes compete.
During the Pete Wilson era, schools sucked and taxes were low which made life difficult for my family. I am not going to forget that now because my thoughts were fortified during that era. Remember the price of Cal Poly doubled during our time there. Less Taxes then but that didn't do a damn thing for my life.

I hope they get the AMT straightened out, but I won't vote for someone just to get it changed.

In regards to the Big Mike comment. I am a conservative with aspirations to be liberal. Big Mike is that way too. You are like Dolphas in this situation and the opposite. Conservative people want to be like you but they can't. You're too real. My liberalness is a choice and is actually the more difficult selection. I think you are liberal with aspirations to be conservative. My best friend's Dad growing up was a country club guy. He was maximim conservative. He was my critic growing up and helped be not because he uplifted me, but by fortying my thoughts and priciples because I had to battle him on them. It would be easy to be that way, but I choose not. I view the world from a conservative point of view. The reason why I will be liberal is because it helps the poor. With black people, we are judged by the behavior of our poor. The way I am treated and viewed is determined by the state of our culture. Me being treated well is more important than money because I don't work for money. I work for experience. When the culmination of my experiences materialize into a position, the money will come. If the black poor are still messing up, then I won't be allowed to be happy(or maybe even successful). Next stop immigration.

Taxes and Politics

First and foremost, I don't know why you two cats think I don't care about Taxes. I had an accountant since the 90's. I don't have to write about that because that is obvious. I came from a family of teachers. School funding and policy is more important than taxes because it drove salary. Different people have other issues to worry about, and aren't in situations to leverage taxes. Being blessed and in a situation for this to matter is actually rare. Based upon the countries average salary and those below the poverty line, taxes don't matter to everyone. I guess the air in Carlsbad makes it easy to think that everyone lives like you. Not everyone does quite honestly.

Politics may not matter because you are in a position to be

detached.

Elections

you are 100% correct on the supreme court, and how they actually have the ability to make change and their selection is 100% dependent on who is elected president. point taken. my thoughts were more in line with these other "issues" these clowns keep debating on. i am not sure what the take away is from a Hilary or Obama making comments about what they would be doing with the war for an example. how do they know? are they privy to the military information? have they made a decision like this in the past? i guess i could use this logic and shoot down every topic that is brought up- and that would leave what left to have them talk about? i guess that is why i dont view it as important

his comments were to me about my stance that the only thing that changes is taxes- it wasnt saying anything about your view or anyone else's actually

and i dont think i am saying that is the only thing i care about- my statement was per elections the only thing that changes is taxes-

but if you pose the question- what concrens you about these elections? my answer would be taxes if a democrat is elected- do you think it would be immigration? social security? healthcare? the war?

why would i concern myself with any of that? the day they want to start fixing that stuff? cool i'm in. i'll pay my share

do you think they are worried about fixing immigration? no

ive already discussed social security

the war is the war- as B-1 has noted there are reasons for it, and strategy and all of that- they are going to do what they feel is necessary to keep us in the position of power. what else do you want from me? argue it until im blue in the face? we got no say in what is gonna happen

healthcare- there might be something there- something that a mit romney might have an idea or an experience that makes sense and could actually have an action behind it- i am ignorant beyond these comments

you mention school funding- that isnt directly related to taxes?

i realize taxes are not relevant to everyone- in a way that they are to worry about them

but they are relevant- all of the programs and support are from a direct relationship of taxes

so the obvious fundamental question is this- does govt help everyone or everyone help themselves( with help from others)

i think B1 is a disciple of Big Mike- has conservative aspirations but a root of union based liberalism

btw- our air is fine down here

Stem Cells

Our government blew it.
They messed up badly because they allowed foreign contries to get all these patents.
We had a chance to take this technology and dominate the indsutry. Instead, we won't and foreign entities will get the major money from it. They have a diabetes cure in Europe that is stem cell based. There was a lot of money that could have been made here on the West Coast. I don't think our government ever wants the West Coast to dominate industry like the dot com era.

From #33

good post.
i will buy what you're saying. however, taxes & money probably rank in the 90th percentile in what matters to you, therefore thats all you'll really notice or be concerned about. taxes are also the only thing that can change overnight depending upon who is elected. therefore, thats what you notice. not any dumb ass policies made, laws made or vetos made by your boy. all that is done by elected officials from the mayor of penasquitos on up, and many are not noticeable. (ie separation of church and state, patriot act, gay marriage, wars, free speech, etc etc etc.) not saying i give a shift about any, but who dictates how those roll is through who is elected. why you think people crap their pants every time a supream justice leaves the bench? cuz who in office is going to put either a left or right leaning judge on the bench. courts control this country.
good post though.
i dont think hillary is going to win. i think she'll get the nomination, but dont think shes gonna win. opinion. which i guess goes against 75% of country.
trott will be happy, cuz a black man will be back in the white house.

Politics continued

People don't change unless they have to. That is why tragedy is always a good opportunity because people take the time to inspect the situation during that time. If things are all good, why waste energy inspecting something? If it ain't broke don't fix it per se.

I was at the car dealer and missed the game. It sounds like Be-more blew it. Pitt beat West Viginia by lining up in goal line formation the whole game. It took some nads and a few defensive stops but that technique can work on the Pats. As a result, I am now rooting for them to go undefeated. I thought about the old Dolphins and realized that I don't like any of them individually. They seem like a bunch of a-holes. I like Moss, and Brady has allowed me to beat many a Lombardi in fantasy football. Plus, Belichik is a nerd who got revenge. I can relate to a mad scientist more than Shula.

Back to politics though. The War on Terror, Iraq and Iran are the same thing fundamentally. They are the current threat to manage. America needs threats. Without them our governent is useless. The whole purpose of the governement is to protect, which is why we pay taxes. America uses these threats to make changes. 9/11 led to government upgrading it's whole computer system to spy on Americans. Rumsfeld wrote a document highlighting the need of this and also stated that catasrophe had to happen before the changes could take place.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century

By keeping things hostile with Iran, the president has a trump card to play whenever he wants which is the security of America. It's just a leverage. Individual citizens are useless to a President. He is looking at things from a country level and if young boys dying in Iraq allows him to pursue his agenda then he will ship them off to die in a heartbeat. Also, the types of wars that really go on are financial wars. This is the key. Weaponry is the only advantage we have over the world. The more expensive they are to develop the less likely other countries will develop them. In order to catch up to us in terms of defense, any other country would have to bankrupt itself to keep up. This is what happened to Russia and why it broke apart. The cold war was a long term financial war and America knew that Russia could not sustain itself for too long. They are trying to play that game with China too. A nuke is the hardest and costliest weapon to develop. If Iran gets a nuke, they make a tremendous jump in standing in the worldwide arms race.

given up hope of change

i am not saying i have given up on social issues- i just dont think the government will be leading the change. if change is going ot happen you might be right that it is via a tragedy. just dont think a rudi or a hilary will be responsible

because once again nothing happens at that level

the U 3-some are balling right now

Iran

Here's the issue. How close are they to having a bomb. If they get the bomb what is the first thing they will do with it. What are their current plans?

I think Iran is trying to get money. By threatening to make nukes, they get to negotiate on the terms and conditions of their aid packages as well as their oil price. I think they also get a vote at like the G8 meeting. Having a nuke allows them to threaten isreal and that scares America just like the Korean threats on Japan. Other than that, there is big oil at play with them. All of their hostilities affect the oil price so they like the drama. That is what I think.

3 certainties

There are three things for sure. I will die as a blackman that paid taxes. Taxes are one of life certanties. Wherever their tinkered with can affect change. Since you have given up hope socially, it easier to just concentrate on your taxes? I am not mad at you for that, but at the same time I think change can happen. I don't think we can impact change which but it can happen from its own creation or a tradgedy. I like to pay attention to those moments when it can happen and see if monitor the impact. I agree with your takes on Barack and Hillary. I am afraid because I think Guiliani will win and he haaaatteeeesssss black people. Wll I guess it's my job to keep you abreast of the major topics at least. If anything your take is needed for the situational analysis.

My Take

no that was not it- it was something i have said over and over again though. so a couple of thing. are we ready for Obama? dont think so- but wouldnt think we were ready for potentially a woman. you ever put together the timing of that ABC show with Genna Davis as woman president? hmmm what a coincidence

i think Obama erred by going for it at this election- he really has not had much time to establish himself or really do anything. it was like he became the hot recruit and he was pressured into going for it- that and i think there is an opening here- everyone tired of Bush- want change and no real strong candidates. so if you were going to attempt to become first black might as well do it when the first woman trying at the same time.

i would be worried if i were him that if he were to lose would he become looked down upon like gore is now?

groups can make change- except in calfornia and some other states as well. i agree with that. the religious sector pushed bush to victory

this is where i am on politics

i dont get myself worked up with the issues because half the time they are not real issues. and even worse if they ARE real issues no one has necessarily said they are issues that those in charge WANT to change

example is social security- dont quote me on the stats - see above- or in other words i could care less about it cause it isnt really an issue-
all we hear is baby boomers are going to retire and cant count on earned benefits because the govt has put hand in cookie jar ect ect- way underfunded- it is anti american, cant believe this is happening-
do you realize what the solution is? something as simple charging the top 10% tax payers a minimal tax increase- I may have just made that up, but trust me it is along those lines. and bam- it is fully funded-end of issue

that easy

so why do they debate it over and over and over- seems like it was more of a topic 4 years ago but whatever- u see my point

spend all of these cycles, waste all of this time, use up all fo this emotion on a topic or issue or problem that is not only correctable BUT easily correctable

why politics are stupid- they havent fixed the social security problem because they havent wanted to

so what matters when it comes down to an election? what matters to you and i- to our friends- some of our families, well both of ours now probably but we both know that wasnt always the case- what matters is taxes- period

you vote for hilary- they go up

you vote for romney or rudi- they stay the same and perhaps even improve ( getting rid of the worst thing on the planet, AMT tax)

why is it the only thing that matters? cause it is the only thing that WILL actually change, and it will change what is in our check at the end of the day

they arent going to fix healthcare, they arent going to stop going to war- all of that is fodder for them to debate in between elections

what is going to happen? Hillary will win- and Bill will be an intregal part and play a role

who else you think can win? come on- im going with the keeping it in the family odds- why have someone other then a bush or clinton there

why would we do that?

Obama and the Dems

I think we can touch on the major topics and cover big stories at when they occur.

Will America vote for him?
Honestly,
I say no because the country is ready yet. Just because a black coach won the superbowl doesn't mean the world is all good and that a brotha would win the presidency.

Look, this cat is smart, can relate to young people and smooth. I'm not sure that he can get by Hillary though. If the black community was completely behind him then I would say he would be the one. I also don't think they will go together as a package. Both of them will need probably Edwards to beat Guiliani because they need to appeal to the conservatives somehow and snatch a few of those votes. Them together would definately lose on that group. I like that Ron Paul dude. He may not get the nod but he would be cool to have some drinks with. I bet he has a million stories.

That's your take?

Is that supposed to be inspiring?
You feel that voter's actually don't have the power to change anything? I tend to agree. Only groups of voters have the ability to change anything. Rather it be clubs, industies, ethnic groups, or old people it seems that the government doesn't care about the individual. Politics is important to be aware of and the impact that can be made is by influencing a group or groups. The leader of the groups can actually achieve political agendas. Take for instance your neighborhood. The reason why there may be trees, a sidewalk or even those speedbumps came because of the city politics. It is important to recognize where politics can be played so that you don't get pissed off at and can be prepared for the dumb decisions that are made due to those agendas.

politics

here is a quote previously from me:

the only thing that matters in politics is taxes. no matter what or who is elected, nothing changes and a voter cant change anything.

Saadat

where did that speech come from by the way- it was classic. have you seen a pic of andy garcia's niece?

yes it nearly doubled- actually more then doubled

i agree it is nice that the whole thing has come full circle for him-

ravens are going to get exposed tonight- just not sure how the pats will do it-

maroney could have 160 yards just so they can prove they can run the ball

can you believe adrian peterson was even playing yesterday? thinking the franchise needs to be rested for remainder of year

there has been a political post requested from an anonymous reader

we shall see where this takes us

Patriots vs Ravens

What do you think the pregame speech will sound like in the Baltimore locker room?
I would pay to hear what Ray Lewis has to say tonight. It would be a combination of Coach P's haymaker speech. Stuart's Who-Ride-They-A$$ speach topped off with Saadat's brilliant La Cosa Nostra rant. I don't think they can win tonight, but I expect to see someone get punished.

The Funeral

I doubt they will read this, but I'm glad the mainsteam media got a chance to see the greatest thing about our culture. Remember JJ's funeral? We mourn, but we uplift. We may be most jailed population but we have a deep spirituality, strength, and a profound sense of loyalty. A loyalty that transcends money and status. That is what keeping it real is. It's a profound sense of loyality that is stronger than money, jail or consequences.

No choice but the Niners

I was trapped in the house and had nothing else to watch but the Bay Area teams.
The Raiders are starting to figure it out. The 9ers are awful, the only thing that makes that 3 hours not exrutiatingly painful is Mr Willis. If I had other games to watch, my dailogue would be wider spread.

I'm watching his funeral. Andy Garcia is there, Jesse Jackson, and some other interesting characters are also in attendance. The minister said the media should be ashamed of themselves and need to act with grace and humility. There was a standing ovation after that. He said he hopes the medial can learn the lesson presented to them and their behavior was not forgivable even though Pedro Taylor has forgiven them.
The reverand is tight by the way. There now is a new guys speaking. He was Sean's personal pastor. He is even tighter. Whoa!

The money doubled over the weekend? That is not too bad. I think after 100 posts we should have enough to standardize some things.

Niners?

are you really giving me updates on that team? they are awful- and you are stuck up there with both of those teams.

willis is real nice- see him catch that receiver from Az last week? wow. i guess gibbs is going to call 2 timeouts- how awful

you got a beat down by the way

edison lost last week to clovis west- bakersfield won the whole thing- again

pac 10 got screwed- in some people's eyes- and didnt make the BCS- funny how all year we had to listen to the Pac 10 is best conf, and here we are after season and their 2nd place team at 10-2 doesnt get invited to BCS- beaten out by Hawaii and Ill with 3 losses

texas- ASU in holiday bowl- will be nice

Zook did it- so how do you think he is going to recruit now that he is BCS bound? could be sick

we almost to 5 bucks- Ha

great comment on the property value decreasing- funny

Bo took Neb- D thought there was a chance that Ark could have been a switch up last minute
he thinks he will get an interview minimum. and they guy who he thought may be ahead of him i guess had a past regression when he was there before- and may not be wanted back

still have to formulate my thoughts on you

Switch the style up

If you hadn't noticed, I had to lighten up for minute to modify the sponsors. The property value was decreasing, hahahahaha. We'll see how the Skins game plays out. They should go on D first so they can express the quickest. CP or Santana do. Maybe even Campbell go go option style and run for a bill. Nah, I doubt that actually. Patrick Willis is already close to pro bowl level. He is going to be a beast. Clements was worth the money by the way. He is really good. He'll come up a blast you too.

Skins

today will be interesting. camp trotter will feature a heavy dose of CP while FatPolz have made decision to keep santana in the lineup. curious to see how they play today and how it plays out

no i dont watch dog whisperer- have seen it but dont watch- i do everything to keep any future dog ownership possibilities or thought processes limited

favorite rest is in Maui- called Sorento's- on water great location unreal service- they assign a dozen people to each table- pretty cool. doesnt sound as if it was quite as expensive as yours

really sucks that the sean tay was over nothing- makes you even more pissed

so does LSU jump over those other guys for BCS game? it appears they will

how great would it be to have college coaching hiring, firing process in place in real life

wold be like you going to Alera and saying Xlinix wants me back i heard- can i talk to them? no you cant- but let us give you a 90% raise and guarantee 3 years more. will that work? uhhh ok

i owe quite a bit back to you-

Fresno had a better year then UCLA- think about it- 4 losses against oregon when good, hawaii-top 10 team, boise, and texas a and m

8-4 in what was considered a rebuilding year- they were real young this year and lost a ton of starters thru out season

might be legit next year- not sure who he has signed up in non conf games

Best food in the world

What's the best place you've ever eaten? Wifey and I went here: http://www.gayot.com/restaurantpages/ParisInfo.php?tag=PARES02137-01&code=PA

When they serve a party, only one menu has pricing. You know why? Because they only want to make 1 person sick before the meal. I wanted to cry every second dreading the damn check. I could have came back to Paris for the price of that damn meal. Once in a lifetime but it was tasty though.

The Dog Whisperer

http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/dogwhisperer/video_preview_1.html

Have you seen that show? The one about that guy who goes and fixes everyone's dog problems. I have a few observations about that may be overlooked by the casual watcher. I have the strange feeling that the Dog Whisperer has not been to the hood and seen the pitbull section like my uncle used to have. Pitbull section meaning the fact that my uncle had something like 10 dogs compressed in his tiny back yard. His dogs seemed willing to attack on demand. I would like to see the dog whisperer with those poor hood dogs that get fed hot dogs and canned chili. I don't think those dogs can be whispered too. If you whisper to those dogs they'll think you're soft. I also noticed that people get punked by their dogs. I love dogs, and think their cool and everything, but I know for damn sure that I wouldn't hire a specialist to come get them to behave. My dogs should call be Parcells meaning if they slip up they get cut, straight up. I'm like corporate America in this case. I don't have time to develop my dog. It better know how to act from the get go like a damn contractor.

You on selling yourself short/Your gift

The fact that I think you sold yourself short in your college estimation doesn't mean you are not at your potential. I have a bias on how tight my friends are and think all of them are fundamentally more capable than what they thought for themselves. You haven't reached my potential for you, but you reached your own standard and that is the key. You didn't expect yourself to be where you are when you were younger. Now that you have gotten your feet wet, you should realize that you can grow forever if you chose to do and that potential is infinite. Opportunities are finite and that is why some people stop achieving, but growth can be forever. Since 2002 when I got derailed, I knew that I wouldn't surpass any personal expectations for a long long time. I may have reached my potential in the eyes of others but not for myself. I think your situation is the opposite. Big Mike respects the camp like Dolphas does you. He said, "Out of all of Tommy's friends, Trotter is the one that he can't get the best of, a little too smart and a little too serious". Verbatim from the Saint Mary's courtyard in 2002.

Dolphas also identified your gift. I don't think I ever told you about that conversation. He said that you had the ability to be yourself in all situations.
I thought it was just stubbornness, but this is different. Your credibility is built within this mechanism. You are what people think you are straight up. I am situationally dependent and the version you get from is determined by my surroundings. Plus I can't speak the way I do with homies at work or in professional situations so that behavior from me is impossible because my life is too much of a duality.

What was considerably impressive was when we went to the Raider game and you drove in player's parking section and you waved off the security guard like we were supposed to be in there. That was tight. The only discrepancy was that I had to duck in the back and stay hidden for that trick to work.

Big Media blew it

Update: http://www.charlotte.com/sports/story/387509.html
Here's a little bit of accountability. Even Time magazine did a negative piece.

Sean Taylor Greatest Hits

Add to My Profile | More Videos

Apparently, the event had nothing to do with Sean Taylor's past. Now what will media say? They can no longer place blame on him. I think some accountability is necessary. They metaphorically desecrated a man's grave. Will we see a new slew of articles addressing the 20 year old problem that society has chosen to ignore? I doubt it. We got to learn about each and every bad thing that Sean did in his life. Can we hear some good things about him by from Big Media? Where are you at Banks, King, Dohrman, Whitlock? All summer, Goodell wanted to eradicate guns from NFL players. Yet he does nothing for their safety. If they felt safe, they wouldn't need guns correct? Sean Taylor used to have pit bulls for protection in his affluent neighborhood. Why did he get rid of them? Because of everyone's obsession with Mike's dogfighting, people who used dogs for protection were seen as evil. I wish Sean had kept a gun in his house and those pit bulls in the yard. I hope the media will take the time to understand why athlete's do what they do, instead of condemn them in attempt to gain control. I am glad they found the killers. But America needs to recognize that athletes are targetted by the have-nots. People protecting themselves should not be viewed as evil especially when society has ignored the problem which causes that insecurity. President Bush has plenty of time to announce that Barry Bond's issue was a sad day in baseball, but hasn't said a word about the fact that Washington DC is the Homicide Capital of America. Sean was not targeted for murder, but his success was a target and his life was lost in the process. Maybe now he can be seen for what he is, a victim. RIP

Wow, a great article

You ever read slate or salon dot com. I like to read their stories because the writing is at a higher intelligence level. Their style is not for the weak minded an anyway. Nonetheless, here's an article about race dynamics with data to back up all points. You should read it, and compare it to what I have been saying. The key is how the points I've been making match these studies. Like the fact that after 9/11 black people got a break from being public enemy number 1. Now America is less threatened by Al Quaida, and black people are sliding out of grace again. I'm glad that this article reaffirms my philosophies. I mean even down to wealth generation. I was deadly on point man. The key is this. I am on these people's level even though I am not in thier field. I can instinctively recognize what it takes these fools polls and analysis to determine.

In year 3

It was during Christmas vacation when he said that I think. We were in the kitchen and he said, "For some people Son, Money always finds them. It sounds like Tommy is one of those people." My response, " Whatever, Tommy ain't Sh)t, quit jockin."

The surface is never scratched for anyone under 35. Simply too young.
The key is willingness after that age. Many aren't willing to try hard anymore or seek challenges.

I just know that my surface, rather scrated or not, will not be on display until about 2019 when I'm 45. That is when I'll be allowed to get into the game. I knew this after being an intern for a day. That is why I was upset during that time, because I was dealing with the pain of realizing my fate. The key is not getting too bitter or cynical before then. The purpose of skillset development is to stay sharper and harder than the average and to gain new perspectives and opportunties.

That is why there is the song called "Until the Day I become what I should be".

I asked my Dad about this exact topic. What do black men do to pass the time when wating for that "real" opportunity. Coach P was at the heart of the discussion. I asked my Dad how would someone older than me like Coach P deal with the situation because it has to piss him off more than me.

"He said he probably has a strong spiritual background because that is the only way I know how to deal with it"

Until then, f potential, it's all about actual. That is why I will always be overprotective of an athlete's potential because they are in a position to maximize if the world's circumstances don't defeat them first. Maximizing is the greatest gift gift of the earth.

My potential is to be a teacher, but in the most profound sense. A teacher whose student is the world, not an individual.

Business MAN

easily the best line ever-

potential- funny i was thinking of Dolphas comment earlier today- a profound moment that will not be forgotten

if you think i sold myself short in those days then to say i have reached mine now would not be accurate

i do not feel like the the surface has been scratched

it seems the more into this game you get the more you see

reason why i am making these comments is that i have yet to be challenged emotionally in this new arena- i actually desire some thing to come across my path

i will have to get back on you and yours at a later date

What you should have become

I think you are what you should have become. I think that is a blessing and I envy that.

I think you sold your self short in your college era success estimation of yourself. Dolphas saw it immediately.

I wish I had something more complex and interesting to say about it, but I don't.
You wanted to be a teacher/coach and maybe own a few properites. I think you have surpassed that by an insurmountable distance. I think you have reached your potential.

Will I reach my potential

I was taught to be corporate. The school district system is a corporation.
My tactics were designed for that environment. The issues lie with the type of coroporation. Old Money vs New Money corporations is my issue. The beauty of technology for me was that it was always new and innovative. Technology right now is about the old money machine like that on the East Coast.

To me, reaching one's potential and being successful are distinct entities. I have no doubt I will be successful or can do a job and make money doing so. This discussion is based upon reaching the situation where my individual stengths line up with financial outlook, meaning my pay is based on successes that I'm naturally inclined to have due to my skillset and background. In that enviroment, I can be maximum Jonathan and the more of me that I am the more successful I will be. I can't see that happening based upon something that I can control. I think the only way I can ever reach that state will be from an opportunity granted from another profound individual. The individual has to be profound because to recognize something to be greater or more than one's self mandates it. To vouch for someone requires a certain strength of character. The opportunity for me to reach my potential will come because someone vouches for me in the area of my mastery. When that happens or even if that happens won't be for quite a while. As long as I don't ruin or miss my opportunity because of haste, there is a chance that I can reach it. I am a pessimist by nature, and don't want to emotionally invest in something that I can't make happen if I don't have to. In the meantime, I will sit here and develop my skillset put myself in the best possible position for that to happen. The skillset development will give me the credibility to deviate from Corporate life. As a black man, that credibility is not free and someone will have to take a risk on me early, or wait until my credibility is so strong that they can hire come comfortably like that did with Dolphas as Superintendent. He reached his potential in his 60's because it was so obvious he was the one that to not select him would be just plain ignorant. I hope I don't have to wait that long, but that is my example and that is how patient I may have to be to get there.

LeBron's success secret part two

I would guess that LeBron's business savvy had something to do with the fact that went to a private Catholic school. I think it gave him access. In that Mike Vick atricle, wasn't there a portion dedicated to Baron Davis. He went to Santa Monica high school full or kids with successful parents. He got to learn the "patterns". It's too early for me to get into patterns, but this has to do with black kids that get a broad exposure of people early. He got to see success that stems from positivity. The pattern (coined by Dolphas) is that white children know as a young child that they are going to college. They may fart around an slack academically, but is pre-ordained that they are going to college. Black kids who don't hang out with white people rarely get to see it and don't feel that way growing up. I did, but Dolphas saw the patterns when he was young and he was a Superintendant. Going to a private school has allowed him see and live certain things. I remember after graduating college that the black students were so happy to graduate but didn't have a career clue. Most of the mainsteam kids knew what they were doing for work before finishing. This really disturbed me because it became apparent that the black students were behind in terms of career planning or being a professional or coroporate. This is why I get mad at the convervatives who think that everyone knows how to go get an education or how to create generational wealth.

The impact of slavery that is still felt today is the fact that African American's weren't given the ability to create wealth early. You can still do it now, but we are 5 generations behind and it's hard to find that type of guidance in our community.

If you take the crack damage and aids, you will see that we lost another 2 generations of wealth creation. I think America will become more and more wealth based over the next few generations and the only black one's who can participate will be the children of athletes and entertainers, not the smart people.

He said Sylvester Stallone

i suggest we move on to another topic

baseball winter meatings? they start sunday in nashville

right i know you could care less

how about this- what should i have become

and i will post what you should have

theoritically it should still be could become- cuz 34 leaves a lot of time left

does daulphus watch that cartoon?

Children of the Law/ Whitlock=Reverand Ruckus

My homie Dew's father was a police man also.
Cops and Criminals go together Tommy.
The children of Police officers either become cops or they become criminals.
Cops and their children have such a inate understanding of crime and punishment that it's easy to slip on the other side. Similar to love and hate, cops and robbers are codependant. So Mr. Taylors above the Law persona may stem from that.

Pete who played football with us an even closer example for you. His father was a cop and so is his brother.

The new slang word that mainstream society has learned about and thinks they understand is "stop snitching". The mainsteam media always brings this up to make our behavior seem negative. Keep it real is one, and playing the race card is the best example. Once it became mainstream, black people get accused of playing the race card for everything. This is called killing a culture. When you alientate others for their tradition and norms it is called control. There will be a new black term soon that will be discovered and blacks will get accused of using it. That is really scary.

Boondocks a black comic strip that is also a cartoon.
The cartoon voice's are the dad from Friday and old girl from Boyz in Hood and Jerry Maguire. Reverend Ruckus and Whitlock provide the same essence to the world. Watch and you'll see what I mean. Reverend Rucks hates black people and hip hop.

Artist example

Listen to this song by JayZ called Ignorant Sh(t.

He says critics called him a great writer when he wrote songs like Big Pimpin or Give it Me. He says but when he write's something thought provoking they say he fell off.

Even he doesn't have full control and he is the president of Def Jam.

Jay-Z f. Beanie Sigel - Ignorant Sh*t | Hip Hop Singles > HipHopDX.com

This song got bad reviews because the critic was too stupid to see that it's a satire.

He isn't Ralph- I agree with that

you are pretty much dead on in what the article says- it isnt a whole lot different then things he has written in the past- why i threw out you knew it was coming

he may be fake or take the easy way out- but these knuckleheads ( not sean tay- the marburys ect) make his job easier then mine

he gets to re write the same column every 8 months

i think the artists get to have more of a say in what they are putting out then you are giving credit to

at the end of the day you dont have to be forced to do it-

Failure of Intent vs. Impact

He wrote exactly in the Whitlock style. I don't trust him. I wish I did. He is no Riley. Riley understood both perspectives. Whitlock doesn't and there is a difference. There is a problem with urban violence. This problem has existed for more than 20 years. The crack epidemic was the fuel because it allowed all of the guns to get into the hands of young black men in the drug game. This is the true result of the damage that the 90's caused. This is the aftermath. Whitlock is wrong straight up, but there is no other black writer who can challenge him. IN true Whitlock fashion, he announces the problem and then blames black people for it. That is why I don't like him. That is his style. He blamed black people for IMUS, yet it's the big non black run corporations that force musicians to make that kind of music. We are pawns, but get blamed like we are leading this. What Whitlock also fails to mention is that hip hop fantasy culture was created by some visual and realistic example. He will never address those examples. Intead of galvanizing the community to fix itself, he stands around the corner patronizing black people into action. Mainstream society loves to patronize into action. You see how everyone is using "keep it real" and a method to attack black people. They think they know black people now and understand keep it real.

Colin did well and owns a home in Houston. He also has other clients and can sustain his life regardless of his friend. Peter Falk(Jordan's agent) taught him.

If I got rich I would pay for Dumar to go school or buy him a business because he can run one. That is what I would do. Baron Davis did the same for his friends. White people hate the entourage Tommy. They will attack it anyway they can because they don't understand it.

Scoop by they way is another sensationalist and is on the opposite side of the fence as Jason. They are both wrong, actually. There is a happy medium between them both, but Jason's side of the fence is Corporate and thus it will be promoted.

Whitlock

I don't think he combines both of our thoughts. I will read this article after writing this because I hope he proves me wrong. I can't stand Whitlock. He is fake. He writes for sensation. He is a black man that says what white people want to hear. Wiley blasted Whitlock. He didn't like him. Whitlock takes the easy way out. He blames everything on hip hop. I'm getting tired of the act. White broadcasters have been talking about Whitlock's article the last few days.
He has an intent vs impact issue too. Let me read and we'll see if I'm wrong. He says that hip hop culture causes this. What he doesn't usually say is how the black family structure is destroyed. What he doesn't say is that crack desroyed that structure in the 90's. What he doesn't say is that those two thirds of young black males that were dead, in jail, or uneducated children have grown up. Maybe he gave a very conservative suggestion to address what I'm talking about, but he is conservative on purpose. That is why Fox hired him. Here's the one thing that upsets me about him. The radio stations, records companies, and the distributors are owned by white people. They control they amount of that filth that hits the steets. They are the one's that removed the consciousness of rap that existed in the 90's. Black people perform based on the directions of their musical leadership. Black people don't control radio content, they supply it based upon what the rich corporations tell them to do. Hip Hop wouldn't not have grown if it wasn't for Rick Rubin, not Russell Simmons.

Black KKK

You knew this was coming- i was actually waiting to read it

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7499442

in some strange way he combines both of our thoughts- or i have always thought that- perhaps it is him just being able to see it from both our angles and have the courage to write it

he is the anti scoop- and loved the article where he blew scoop up

funny thing is shortly thereafter i stopped seeing scoop on espn

wonder why whitlock has gone from KC paper to i want to say espn for a minute to AOL and now to Fox

think he is writing stuff people dont want to see?

Corporate vs NOT!!!

funny- as i am about to write this- ad for how to invest in hedge funds- classic

you realize that a lot of your negativity ( via experiences in the workplace) surrounding perception and efforts needed by you vs others ect is all based on the fact that your world is corporate

which i guess puts you in more of the minority- doing what you doing-dealing with what you dealing with with it being you

i long for the day that your genius is released to the world in an non corporate structure where you can act on your thoughts and ideas- and everything you do is in the subjective arena- including your success, future, and livelihood

wonder if we will ever see that

your mind would definitely be freed

i dont give the media or shows too much time in my world- it really is a sign of ignorance on my end. obviously one that i am ok with

as it is with politics- why get worked up and over think everything- when you cant control any of it

The Apprentice

is what i was at 19- and what i am thankful for. it was access to a methodology that has served me well

i thought it was interesting listening to the deputy sec of the NBA and an executive of the 2nd largest area of Nike ( behind tiger of course) both give his boy Maverick props

this after reading articles from both black and white writers about how black athletes need to cut the hood off

are there more of these examples? how about whats his name - Colin right? he tagged along and is doing well correct?

maybe it depends on exactly where you came from- i dont think Lebron had foster parents- it was him and his mom. he may have had an influence somewhere perhaps

but lets use Sean Tay as an example- his dad is a police chief named pedro. how bad of a background did he come from?

maybe a knucklehead is a knucklehead regardless of any of these other things we have debated- not saying this is Sean Tay, but Vick perhaps.

Telfair- he looked up to Marbury- knucklehead knucklehead
Pac Man- just dont think he very smart- how many times man
Eddie Griffin- nba guy that drove into train drunk- knucklehead from beginning

not sure if i buy into the poor kids nothing growing up
- never had money now they got it and dont know how to act

there are whites and latinos in this category as well

but once again this goes back to the numbers

professional athletes is an awful test sample for these discussions

you and demar are an example of something as well-

does all of this just go back to parents- and having 2 of them- and having someone to guide you

maybe that is the root-

i have noticed the sponsors

LeBron's success secret

I know he was tight with Buffett. I read about last year or so. There is something big at play here. I am going to label these types of moments as when an illumination can occur. There is a reason why and it's really important to note. LeBron's foster parents were white weren't they? This is the reason why black folks can get rich, but there are only a few of us that are wealthy. Getting rich requires skill but getting wealthy requires planning. This type of planning is passed generation to generation and kids learn it from their parents and teach their kids. Black kids are not taught about the power of banking and investing by their parents. White kids are more likely have that kind of understanding. I'm talking about non poor people here, so I am not generalizing as bad. A classic example is you and me. You were in the game at 19 when Coral street was purchased. I just figured this crap out recently and would not have really understood if not by watching all of you guys. LeBron has that same type of mentoring. His foster parents should have known he was going to be rich and taught him what he needed to. I guarantee Telfair wasn't afforded this wealth managemet education. He can't even manage his life.

Refreshing

long article on Lebron- but good

he trying to get to a billion dollar level

A letter to the Media

I'm am disturbed about the media. It is very scary how they operate. I'm glad you feel that way about them because the weak minded can't see it. I am not sure when the change happended or was it the fact that I'm able to recognize more with age. The media is now owned by the large infrastructure companies, and all of their stories support the general themes and thoughts of their editors and leadership. I think writers get told what to write about my nanagement, and will spin any story to meet those ends. I read the sports writers and they flip flop each and every week. They are looking for sensation nowadays so they will say anything to support the sensation they desire to generate. Disney, GE, Fox are all sending their personal messages through the media. Instead of informing the public of facts and allowing them to draw a conclusion, they inform the public of their conclusion and only provide facts that support them. That is what is disturbing to me. I read news from all over the world to find the common truth in all of them and create my own conclusion based upon that. I think it will get worse. Remember V for Vendetta. It was based upon a society where media ruled the world. Things are becoming eerily familiar in that regard. The mainstream media can affect the gullible and uninformed. The problem is that 80% of our country falls into that bucket. They get led by media.

Athletics, all aspects, is an arena for brothas to succeed. There is a reason why. The results are obvious in sports and therefore objective. Most other jobs are driven by subjective results. Except Sales!!!!!!! That is why there are so many athletes and bruh's that can find success there. Objective Results Man, straight up. Negative connotations, culture, stereotypes play a part in subjective evaluations, but not objective ones. This is a key factor right here. Dolphas and I spent a whole XMAS reviewing this concept.

Tomlin is real. His hairline gives him a prominent forehead. It has the same magic power as the jawline or chin depending on your point of view, hehe.

I read Wilbon's article before I wrote last night's comment. That is what set me off. I was mad at first until I reread it. I see what he is doing. He did the same thing Jamele Hill did for ESPN. She works for conservative Disney and Wilbon works for the conservative Post and they guide his writing topics. He failed in his attempt to deliver the message. He missed his target. He had an intent vs. impact problem. I dominated critical thinking and arguementative writing classes so I can see the literary tactics at play. He was setting up his point by recognizing the opposition's point of view. It allows your writing to be more powerful because you are refuting their reply in advance. A pre-emptive strike per se. He was saying that he isn't supriseed that young black man died early and probably at the hands of another young black man. He is saying that it happens so much below the surface(poor areas) that to see that crop up in mainstream society is not a suprise.

Main Stream Media

im not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to what they actually do. to me ( im not the right person to ask- our friend kenny pohl and wife lisa are- they actually react to what is on the news)

anyway- dont you ever get the feel that the media is biased on everything- as in depending on what channel you are watching arent you just being forced fed that biased information? i guess im not talking about the nationwide evening news- well actually yeah i think i am

i dont watch it- why? cuz if it is local news it is all bad news- deaths ect

if it is national news it is what has president done today, a biased and non reality take on the war, middle east ect

if it is an O'reilly or Jon Stewart then you know what you are getting there- just got to pick which side of fence you on

and then if it is something along the lines of a Today show- well then it to me has become basically a tabloid- not sure when it become so important to report what Brittany Spears did the night before- we must be laughed at for how these quote unquote celebrities have taken over how much air time on national TV and internet space?

i dont watch it-

however- is their a pre determined boilerplate of negativity for black folks? or is it more common for them to report negative doings of blacks vs whites?

im not sure- if you are famous- black or white it will monopolize the media's attention

do more black crimes get reported then white crimes? probably- especially when done to white person

i think the root of your issue is this- black on black crime, not a big deal- happens daily, goes under the radar- and i know you have opinions and previous arguments of why this happens- the actual crimes themselves, and how those people were potentially put into those situations to where it was inherent that crime would eventually unfold- and i think you are right

black on white crimes are a whole another subject- this is where the media portrays the outrage, the shock, and the circus begins

white on white? unless it is a husband and pregnant wife or someone famous it gets mentioned but not portrayed in the same manner

2 other things- i heard what tomlin said- thought of you- (btw wouldnt he be an example of a non athlete reaching and fulfilling his potential?)- (btw #2 that dude is you) ( btw #3- did you see his hairline on forehead? go back and look- it is crazy- it makes either his forehead or hair look fake- weird) and of course what he said made sense

other thing- you see Wilborns comments?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/11/27/AR2007112702680.html

I wasn't surprised in the least when I heard the news Monday morning that Sean Taylor had been shot in his home by an intruder. Angry? Yes. Surprised? Not even a little

u got to read it
